Downloading to your Downloads folder — you can stay right here. Next: step 1 below.

1. If you have downloaded Bayan GlassCaption before and are getting it again: delete the old copies first. Open your Downloads folder, right-click each old Bayan zip or folder, and choose Delete. (If you already have a working install you like, keep that one and skip this.)
2. Click the Download button above, then open the zip — from the bar at the bottom of your browser, or by double-clicking it in Downloads.
3. Double-click INSTALL - CLICK ME FIRST. Windows shows one or two security messages because this early build is not signed yet — the button to press is always just Run.
4. A black setup window opens and does everything itself: it unpacks the app to Downloads → Bayan GlassCaption, then works through steps 1 to 4 on screen. It may hop to a second window after unpacking — that is normal. Leave it alone until it says ALL DONE.
5. At ALL DONE, the gold icon is on your Desktop, in the Start Menu, and in the app folder — and the app opens itself. The very first launch downloads the speech models: a few minutes on good wifi, one time only.
6. Every day after: double-click the gold desktop icon (or press the Windows key and type "Bayan"). Want it on the taskbar? Right-click the desktop icon → Pin to taskbar — pin the icon, not the running window, so it keeps the gold look.

Prefer the classic way? Right-click the zip → Extract All → open the extracted Bayan GlassCaption folder → run INSTALL from there. Same result either way.

Mac

1. If you have downloaded Bayan GlassCaption before, first delete the old zips and "Bayan GlassCaption" folders from Downloads — macOS quietly numbers the copies and it gets confusing fast.
2. Double-click the zip to unzip it, open the Bayan GlassCaption folder, and double-click Start Captions.command.
3. macOS will block it with a message that it could not verify the app. Click Done — not "Move to Bin". (This early build is not yet signed with Apple; the signed version is coming.)
4. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about "Start Captions.command", and click Open Anyway, then confirm. You only ever do this once.
5. A setup window runs: it installs the engine and downloads the speech models — a few minutes on good wifi, one time only. If your Mac offers to install command line developer tools, click Install (that is Apple's official Python), then run step 2 again after it finishes.
6. When macOS asks about the Microphone, click Allow. Then press Start and speak.
